Orange Cassidy Becomes Most Successful Champion In AEW History

Orange Cassidy is breaking records in AEW

Orange Cassidy’s run with the AEW International Championship has seen him become the unsung workhorse of All Elite Wrestling, with OC putting his title on the line at any given opportunity.

On the July 26 edition of AEW Dynamite, a banged-up Cassidy triumphed over AR Fox, before receiving a punch for his troubles from Fox, and a later beatdown from Jon Moxley. Whilst the post-match shenanigans were not what Cassidy will have hoped for, his win saw him become the most successful champion in company history, with the victory over Fox Cassidy’s 27th successful defence of the title.

DrainBamager on Twitter noted how Cassidy now holds the record for most successful title defences in a single reign, and has averaged a title defence every 11 days.

Cassidy’s reign started in October 2022, defeating inaugural AEW All Atlantic Champion PAC on the October 12 edition of Dynamite in Toronto. The title was renamed the AEW International Title in March 2023, in the midst of Cassidy’s run as champion.
