Original Plans For Cody Rhodes At AEW Full Gear 2021 Reportedly Revealed
Another change from reported initial plans
Cody Rhodes is set to team with PAC to take on Makalai Black and Andrade El Idolo at AEW Full Gear 2021 this weekend.
The American Nightmare's plans for the upcoming AEW pay-per-view appear to have switched a handful of times, particularly after a leaked image of the supposed entire Full Gear 2021 card - on a notebook held by Tony Khan at a Jacksonville Jaguars game last month - showed Cody facing off against either Black, Andrade or Miro in singles action.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the idea to do a tag-team match between the four involved wrestlers wasn't the original plan either.
Per Meltzer, the original idea would have involved Cody, PAC, Andrade and Black instead facing off against each other in a Fatal-4-Way Match. However, the decision was instead made to do a tag-team pairing which would allow more focus on both first time Rhodes and PAC have teamed together, and the developing relationship between Andrade and Black.
The two teams will do battle at AEW Full Gear 2021 on Saturday 13 November, the promotion's final pay-per-view of the year.
