'Outside-The-Box' AEW Plans Being Discussed For Sammy Guevara
AEW discussing 'outside-the-box' plans for Sammy Guevara
Sammy Guevara may not be linking up with Chris Jericho in the Learning Tree when he returns to All Elite Wrestling.
According to Sean Ross Sapp on a Fightful Select Q&A, "outside-the-box" plans for Guevara have been discussed within AEW.
"I've heard that there have been talks of creative plans for him. A little bit of outside-the-box kind of stuff for him, which is good because I don't think you need to have him with Chris Jericho anymore," Sean Ross Sapp said.
Sammy Guevara has been off AEW TV since the February 14 taping of Rampage when he was suspended following a No DQ Match against Jeff Hardy. The closing moments of the match saw Guevara botch a Shooting Star Press and land on Hardy's face, giving him a broken nose. Hardy was in concussion protocol following the move and Guevara was suspended for hitting Jeff with the GTH finisher after being told to pin him.
Guevara was defended within the company over his suspension as many believed the GTH was simply a miscommunication between Sammy and the referee. There were also questions from fans about why AEW's medical team or the referee didn't just end the match if Hardy was in concussion protocol.
It emerged in May that Guevara's suspension had been lifted.
