Pat McAfee Comments On His Future With WWE

What next for Pat McAfee in WWE?

Royal Rumble 2023 saw the surprise grand return of Pat McAfee to the WWE commentary booth, with McAfee joining Michael Cole and Corey Graves in calling the action for the entire Rumble show.

However, since the Rumble McAfee has once again been absent from WWE, having temporarily left his role as SmackDown colour commentator in September 2022 to join ESPN’s College Gameday team.

Taking to Twitter, McAfee posted a lengthy Tweet with an update on his career and personal life, including a look at his WWE status:

“Baby girl on the way… what’s that mean for my future with @WWE? I LOVE it but, they’re allegedly gonna be sold, who’s buying them? Do I want to work/make money for those people?” wrote McAfee.

McAfee has been working with WWE off-and-on since 2018, with McAfee making multiple appearances for NXT - including several matches - before joining the SmackDown announce team alongside Michael Cole in April 2021. McAfee would even go on to wrestle Austin Theory and Vince McMahon in back-to-back matches at WWE WrestleMania 38.
