Report: Potential Plans For WWE Women's Tag Titles At WrestleMania 39

Potential plans for the WWE Women’s Tag Title scene at WrestleMania 39 in April

With a little over a month away until ‘The Grandaddy of ‘em All’, WWE are starting to get the card in place for WrestleMania 39, with several matches confirmed for the two night event in the wake of the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber.

Nothing has yet been announced for the WWE Women’s Tag Title scene heading into Mania, but a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that current champs Damage CTRL might not be heading into the event with the straps.

The team of IYO SKY and Dakota Kai are set to face the team of Becky Lynch and Lita on the upcoming February 27 edition of WWE Raw, and Meltzer believes that WWE could put the titles on Lynch and Lita heading towards a title showdown with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler at Mania.

Meltzer argues that WrestleMania is all about spectacle, and on paper Lita & Lynch vs. Rousey & Baszler is a bigger match than Rousey & Baszler vs. Damage CTRL. We’ll have to wait and see what state the division is in come Raw on Monday.
