Pat McAfee's WWE Future Unknown Following ESPN Deal

McAfee is a man in demand

Pat McAfee's WWE status is currently unknown, after it was announced that he has signed a multi-year, multi-million-dollar deal to take his popular show to ESPN. Per the report, McAfee will earn more than eight figures per year.

The former SmackDown colour commentator will leave behind a four-year, $120 million contract with FanDuel (of which he is in his second year). McAfee had already been working with ESPN on College GameDay, as well as providing alternative college football commentary.

He left the WWE broadcast table in September of last year in order to begin his work on GameDay, though he made a return to the desk at the Royal Rumble. McAfee made a surprise in-ring appearance at WrestleMania 39 (night one), where he beat event host The Miz.

It is believed that McAfee signed a three-year extension with WWE in July of last year.

The former Indianapolis Colts punter indicated in March that his WWE dream wasn't over and that he planned on one day being in the WWE Hall of Fame.
