Paul Walter Hauser's escapades in pro wrestling had one fellow Hollywood actor fearing the Cobra Kai star was having a midlife crisis, while his manager and agent were worried about Hauser after he received a guitar shot to the head from Jeff Jarrett.
Speaking exclusively with Cultaholic's Tom Campbell ahead of Chapter 179: PROGRESS Las Vegas, Hauser noted that David Oyelowo questioned him about a midlife crisis after seeing Hauser get involved with pro wrestling.
"The folks that were worried about me, my agent and manager had a moment where they were like, 'I know that you took that guitar shot and you were okay, but that guitar shot from Jeff Jarrett on AEW scared the hell out of us,'" Hauser stated.
"I had a wellness check from David Oyelowo, who is a buddy of mine. He texted me and was like, 'Are you having a midlife crisis or a nervous breakdown? We need to know about it.' I was like, 'No, I'm just having fun living that circus life.'"
Hauser has been "living that circus life" since early 2023, when he appeared on AEW TV after his Golden Globe win and received a guitar shot to the head from Jeff Jarrett. Hauser has since wrestled for the likes of MLW, Wrestling REVOLVER, and DEFY.
One of the stars of Inside Out 2 has yet to win pro wrestling gold, but that could change during WrestleMania week. Paul Walter Hauser will challenge Simon Miller for the PROGRESS Proteus Title in a five-way which also features Effy, Charles Crowley, and Adam Priest at PROGRESS Wrestling's Las Vegas show.
The event will emanate from the Pearl Concert Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort at 11:59 pm PT on Thursday, April 17. Tickets are available now.
