The last couple of years under the new TKO era of WWE, the promotion has been much more open to allowing under-contract wrestlers to take bookings outside of the company. Thus far, WWE stars have wrestled in the likes of TNA, GCW, Marigold, Pro Wrestling NOAH, OTT, and more throughout the previous two years.

Pete Dunne recently made an appearance in OTT, defeating Sammy D, and he will wrestle once more outside of WWE during WrestleMania week. He will be taking on recently returned WWE ID trainer Timothy Thatcher at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII on April 17, which takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fellow WWE star Karrion Kross will also be on the card

Barnett issued the following statement on social media

“Two men that haven't faced each other one-on-one since 2016, yet seem destined to meet each in perpetual combat. Both adherents of the old ways of Pro Wrestling - Catch-as-Catch-can. Who will take the limb the first and catch hold of victory? Pete Dunne takes on Timothy Thatcher and Josh Barnett's: Bloodsport XIII. Get your tickets before they're all gone.”
