Rey Fenix will make his WWE debut on the April 4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown and a potential spoiler on his opponent has been revealed.

According to WrestleVotes on a Backstage Pass Q&A, a segment with Andrade about him working with new talent was cut from the March 21 edition of SmackDown in Bologna, Italy. WrestleVotes believes this indicates that Rey Fenix vs. Andrade was at the very least planned as of a couple of weeks ago.

"Don't know for sure but I can go back to the SmackDown three weeks ago, the one from Italy. Written in the show before the Liv Morgan vs. Jade Cargill match, there was to be a backstage segment with Nick Aldis telling Andrade that there are new talent coming to SmackDown and he would want him to work with them first. That segment got cut. It was not supposed to be on last week's show, so I don't know where it stands. However, that would indicate to me that at least they had plans at the minimum for Andrade vs. Rey Fenix. We'll see if that happens," WrestleVotes said.

Rey Fenix signed with WWE in March shortly after his release from All Elite Wrestling. His signing had been expected for several months, especially after his brother Penta debuted on Monday Night Raw in January.

Rey Fenix and Andrade have only had one singles match, with Andrade picking up the win on that occasion on the June 24, 2022 episode of AEW Rampage.
