The location of WWE SummerSlam 2024 potentially revealed
It’s the biggest party of the Summer, the second biggest show in WWE’s calendar, and according to reports SummerSlam could be heading for a ‘shocking’ US location.
Per a report from Fightful Select, Cleveland, Ohio is the current frontrunner to host SummerSlam next Summer, with one source within WWE hearing that the event is ‘likely’ set to take place in the city.
No exact location within Cleveland has been singled out thus far, but with SummerSlam taking place in major stadiums over the past few years then either Cleveland Browns Stadium (capacity over 67,000) or home of the Cleveland Guardians MLB team Progressive Field (capacity over 35,000) are surely the most likely destinations.
Why Cleveland is seen as shocking is unknown, but seeing as SummerSlam has been hosted in major North American cities such as Brooklyn, New York, Toronto, LA, Las Vegas, Nashville, and Detroit over the past decade then that could be some reason as to the ‘shocking’ nature of the potential host city. Regardless, WWE Hall of Famer and noted Cleveland sports fan Jerry Lawler will likely be hoping to be in town for the occasion, should Cleveland land the show.
