Goldberg’s retirement is taking place later this year, though no date or opponent has been officially announced as of yet. However, in recent weeks there has been more rumours and rumblings surrounding this topic, following on from it being revealed that Goldberg was fit and clear from any injuries.

Fightful Select have provided some details on the setting for his farewell and some insight on when to expect the ball to begin rolling on the last ever match for the multi-time WCW and WWE World Champion. Goldberg has been billed from Atlanta, Georgia throughout his career (and previously played for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons), and sources reportedly note that Goldberg’s match is ‘tentatively planned’ for Atlanta.

There has also been some talk about hosting something related to Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July, which is internally planned to be July 12 - the same day as AEW All In: Texas 2025. It isn’t known if this will be Goldberg’s retirement match itself, or perhaps the start of the build towards his final showdown. It has been revealed that WWE have had some creative discussions regarding Goldberg in recent weeks.
