It seems a matter of when not if Goldberg will have his official WWE retirement match, with the multi-time world champion said to be ‘injury free’.

‘Da Man’ has long been talking of his desires to have one last match in a WWE ring before hanging up his boots, undergoing stem cell treatment in a bid to be injury free and ultimately cleared by doctors to perform.

Speaking on the Carcast podcast, Goldberg provided an update on his physical condition, noting how he is back in training:

“I feel a little bit better, I’ve gained a little bit of weight man. Done a little kickboxing on the weekends. I’m getting there man, I’ve got a little bit of time left. Slowly but surely, Rome wasn’t built in a day,” said Goldberg.

Continuing, the WCW legend noted he is ‘injury free’ at this moment in time:

“Believe me, it’s been really tough to control myself but I think I’m on a good schedule. I’m injury free as of right now.”

Original plans called for Goldberg and Gunther to wrestle in a WWE ring, with tentative plans scheduled for Summer 2025 after an initial angle at Bad Blood 2024. Further reports in Spring 2025 stated that Goldberg’s name had been floated during WWE creative meetings and in the marketing department.
