WWE will head to Saudi Arabia this weekend for the company's latest pay-per-view in the Middle East as Night of Champions will emanate from Riyadh on Saturday, June 27 from 6 pm BST/1 pm ET.
One of the headline matches at Night of Champions is Cody Rhodes' latest defence of the Undisputed WWE Championship, this time in a Triple Threat against Gunther and Sami Zayn. The match was set up on the June 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown when Zayn delivered a fast count as the referee for Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther, allowing Rhodes to win in the process.
While there has been some speculation that Sami Zayn may finally become a WWE world champion for the first time at Night of Champions, that seemingly won't be the case. A source familiar with WWE's future plans has told WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that Cody Rhodes is the current favourite to win the Triple Threat at Night of Champions, which would mean that he will remain champion.
In fact, the suggestion from the same source is there will be no title changes at Night of Champions. Trick Williams is favoured to retain the United States Championship against Ricky Saints, and the belief is Tiffany Stratton will successfully defend the Women's United States Title against Jade Cargill, although the source was not as confident about that match over Rhodes and Williams retaining.
