Potential SPOILER On WWE Royal Rumble Surprises

Possible SPOILER on WWE's Royal Rumble plans

WWE's first big four pay-per-view of 2024 is just a few weeks away and the company will present the Royal Rumble from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, January 27.

As expected, the pay-per-view will feature the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches and Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported on several potential surprises on January 27.

For the men's match, there was talk last week about X-Pac being in Florida working for WWE over the Royal Rumble weekend so he could be drafted in as a surprise. If he were to wrestle, it would be Sean Waltman's first WWE match since July 2002 and his first match overall since he faced Joey Janela in a GCW ring in March 2022.

The women's Royal Rumble would also make sense, according to Johnson, as the place for Trinity (AKA Naomi) to make her WWE return. Trinity is still the Knockouts World Champion at the moment but she is set to finish up with TNA Wrestling this month, with Johnson noting that WWE have confirmed she is returning to the organisation.

There has also been talk of Liv Morgan returning to WWE TV soon. The former SmackDown Women's Champion has been out of action since the Summer of 2023 but she is reportedly planned for a major push upon her return. Morgan was recently arrested, although one of the charges was recently dropped. She is still slated to appear in court in February for the charge of marijuana possession.

There might also be a number of NXT talents booked for the Rumble matches as surprises. Orlando is fairly close to the Tampa area so they would be able to quietly travel to Tropicana Field if they are needed on the show.

Alongside the Rumble matches, a Fatal 4-Way for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship has been booked for January 27. Roman Reigns will defend his title against Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles. WWE scrapped their original plans for the match.
