It's bad news for AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs, who is set to undergo surgery for the injury he suffered on last week's edition of Dynamite.

Hobbs was wrestling Jon Moxley in a match for Moxley's IWGP World Heavyweight Championship when he appeared to suffer a knee injury of some sort. The match was cut short as Hobbs was unable to put any weight on his leg.

It was subsequently reported that the injury was 'significant' and that the 33-year-old would likely be out for a while. Fightful Select have now confirmed that the former TNT Champion will need to go under the knife to fix the problem. It was not specified what the exact procedure is, nor the timeframe for recovery.

The report did note that the surgery will be happening 'imminently', if it hasn't happened already.

The Monstar, who has been All Elite since September 2020, is not the only AEW star currently dealing with an injury. Julia Hart will be off television for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery for an unspecified injury. Yaka Sakazaki and Chuck Taylor are also on the shelf with injuries. The injured Darby Allin, meanwhile, was recently hit by a bus.
