When it comes to crossover between the top flight of English football and WWE, things have been pretty minimal. Wayne Rooney once slapped Wade Barrett on an episode of Monday Night RAW, and Sheamus recently put Gary Neville in a submission move on an episode of The Overlap US, but apart from that, the Premier League and WWE don’t have much personnel crossover.

However, Crystal Palace centre back and England international Marc Guéhi isn’t closed off to the idea of a career inside the professional wrestling ring. When speaking to BBC Sport, Guéhi was asked if there was anything that fans didn’t know about him, to which he divulged his secret ambition to get into the ring.

“I’d love to be a WWE wrestler. Growing up, watching WWE. It’s on Netflix. I’ve seen some pay-per-views. I would love to be a WWE wrestler. It can be dangerous but the performance side of it… I’m a good waffler on the mic… making people believe you’re the bad guy or the good guy.”

Guéhi has been linked with a transfer to multiple teams this summer, but don’t get your hopes up for a move to Newcastle United, as you can expect a bigger team to swoop in with the Money In The Bank briefcase and take their player.
