Pro Wrestling NOAH's Kongo Confront Los Ingobernables De Japon At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

A big confrontation at Wrestle Kingdom 17

Pro Wrestling NOAH made their presence felt during New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 17 event from the Tokyo Dome on January 4.

Los Ingobernables de Japon were holding a press conference backstage at Wrestle Kingdom after Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, and BUSHI's loss to Keiji Muto, Shota Umino, and Hiroshi Tanahashi on the main card. LIJ were confronted by Pro Wrestling NOAH's Kongo during the press conference, seemingly to set up future singles matches between the two stables.

Kongo's Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Hajime Ohara, Tadasuke, and Hi69 were all involved in the backstage altercation. NJPW commentators told fans about the confrontation during the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title match that saw LIJ's Hiromu Takahashi defeat Master Wato, Taiji Ishimori, and El Desperado to become a five-time champion.

Kongo and LIJ have history stemming from the NJPW vs. NOAH portion of Wrestle Kingdom from Yokohama Arena in January 2022. Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi, SANADA, Hiromu Takahashi, and BUSHI defeated Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Aleja, Manabu Soya, and Tadasuke at the event in a 26-minute clash.

When Kongo and LIJ will face off remains to be seen but NJPW are holding a second Wrestle Kingdom event at Yokahama Arena on January 21.
