Darby Allin Wins AEW TNT Championship On 1/4 Dynamite

The second reign for Allin.

Darby Allin is the new AEW TNT champion, winning the title from Samoa Joe on Wednesday's episode of AEW Dynamite, in Allin's hometown of Seattle.

Late in the match, Joe attempted the Cocquina Clutch on Allin, who grabbed onto the corner buckle to try and pull himself free. In the struggle, Allin ended up ripping the turnbuckle pad off. When Joe successfully reapplied the Clutch, Allin escaped by running Joe's face into the exposed buckle. Allin followed up with a code red, followed by two Coffin Drops to finish off Joe.

After the match, Sting (who had been absent due to recent knee surgery) came out and celebrated with Allin, as confetti fell.

This is Allin's second reign as AEW TNT champion. He previously reigned for 186 days as champion from November 2020 to May 2021, in what is the belt's longest singular reign thus far.

Joe's reign as champion ends at 46 days. He won the TNT championship from Wardlow in a three way match involving Powerhouse Hobbs at Full Gear on November 19 in Newark.
