Santos Escobar had officially departed WWE after the expiration of his deal.

Speculation about the former LWO member’s future arose in the past week when Santos posted a cryptic post on social media, with many at the time believing he was signalling the end of his WWE run.

A post from PWInsider reports that WWE made a contract offer to Escobar complete with a raise in salary, but Escobar is believed to have turned it down, making it clear it wasn’t about money but more that WWE would have a laid out plan on how they were planning on using him going forward.

Sources close to Escobar opine that it wasn’t about a push per se, but more Escobar fearing a situation where he’d sign a new deal then be sat in catering spinning his wheels rather than wrestling meaningful matches on a consistent basis.
