PROGRESS Wrestling Announces Return Of Super Strong Style 16 Weekend

The tournament returns

After a two-year hiatus, PROGRESS Wrestling's Super Strong Style 16 Weekend tournament is set to return in 2022, the promotion recently announced.

In a tweet confirming the dates of their London shows for the remainder of the year, PROGRESS revealed the weekend tournament will return on Friday, June 3 before two more events to be held on June 4 and June 5.

All three shows will be held at The Electric Ballroom in Camden, London.

Established in 2015, Super Strong Style 16 Weekend has been a popular tournament that traditionally has showcased top independent wrestling talent. Past winners include Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay.

The announcement of the tournament's return comes only weeks after PROGRESS was purchased by Lee McAteer and Martyn Best, directors of EFL League Two side Tranmere Rovers FC. The promotion will also resume live events later this month, with Chapter 127 set to take place on January 23 at The Electric Ballroom.

That event will be headlined by a Two-Out-Of-Three Falls Match between Cara Noir and Chris Ridgeway for the PROGRESS World Title.
