Rey Mysterio is the cover star of WWE 2K22!

To celebrate his 20th anniversary as a WWE Superstar, WWE 2K22 will feature The Master Of The 619 on the cover, 2K announced today. Mysterio will also headline the returning WWE 2K Showcase mode where players can "relive the iconic moments behind Mysterio's most famous matches."

"Representing the culture of lucha libre as the cover Superstar for WWE 2K22 is a moment of great pride for me. I'm looking forward to sharing the stories behind the big moments of my career with a dedicated community of players and connecting with WWE fans in a whole new way as they play through my 2K Showcase," Mysterio said.

2K also announced today that the upcoming WWE title will be released on March 11, 2022, on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Several editions of WWE 2K22 have also been revealed, including a standard edition that will retail for £64.99 on current-gen consoles, £59.99 on previous-generation consoles and £49.99 on PC. A cross-gen bundle is also available for £69.99 which includes a digital standard edition of the game and the Starrcade '96 Rey Mysterio Pack.

A Deluxe edition is available too for £84.99. It includes the standard edition, a season pass named the Undertaker Immortal Pack, the MyRISE Mega-Boost and SuperCharger Packs, limited-edition WWE SuperCard content and access to WWE 2K22 three days early on March 8, 2022. Current-gen console players will also receive the Starrcade '96 Rey Mysterio Pack.

A very special nWo 4-Life edition is also available for £104.99. Along with all other previously mentioned content, including early access from March 8, the nWo edition features MyFACTION EVO Cards, alternate nWo attires for Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Syxx, a playable Eric Bischoff character, WCW Souled Out 1997 and WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 arenas, and the nWo Wolfpac Championship.

Previously announced by 2K for WWE 2K22 was the return of GM Mode, now named MyGM, as well as new modes like MyFACTION and a redesigned control scheme, among other features.
