Influential Californian indy Pro Wrestling Guerrilla have closed their website amidst an extended hiatus from running shows.

The legendary indy last promoted a show in 2023 - August 2023’s TWENTY Mystery Vortex - with co-founder Super Dragon announcing that year that he and PWG were taking a break from the industry as his girlfriend was battling cancer.

Super Dragon originally intended to resume running shows in 2024 but this did not come to pass, and with the PWG website currently offline it suggests that there is no imminent return date set for the promotion.

Pre-COVID 19 pandemic, PWG would run almost monthly shows from their home in Reseda, California, before moving to LA’s Globe Theater in 2019. Post-pandemic PWG’s output was staggered, running just 11 shows in two years.

Formed in 2003 during the golden era of American independent wrestling, PWG was home to some of the biggest names in modern wrestling, most notably Kevin Owens, The Young Bucks, and Adam Cole amongst countless others.

PWG has ties to All Elite Wrestling, with AEW lead announcer Excalibur one of PWG’s founders, whilst former TNT Champion Daniel Garcia is the current reigning PWG World Champion.
