On this day in 2015, a certain NXT Champion made his WWE main roster debut. 

Kevin Owens walked out on Monday Night Raw as John Cena declared his United States Championship Open Challenge officially open. Of course, we wouldn't get Owens vs. Cena that night. Instead, we got Owens beating down Cena (to a chorus of cheers by the live audience) which instead set up a feud between the two. 

However, the John Cena United States Championship Open Challenge was a staple of Raw in 2015. It was an opportunity for new, younger or perhaps lesser-seen talent to shine in a big-match against, well, Big-Match John.
