In 1997, WWE embarked on one of the hottest periods in company history, officially heralding the beginning of the Attitude Era. The era would feature some of the biggest moments and feuds in company history, whether that be Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Mr McMahon or Rock vs. Austin or Triple H vs. The Rock. 

The Attitude Era would officially come to an end, with many putting the final days of the era as WrestleMania X-Seven in 2001, a show which went off the air with Steve Austin shaking Vince McMahon's hand. World Championship Wrestling, a key facet of the Attitude Era through the Monday Night Wars, had also been purchased by Vince McMahon only weeks earlier.
