R-Truth Vs. John Cena & Steel Cage Match Added To WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

On last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the build continued to the next edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, when WWE heads to the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida on May 24. It was known ahead of time that John Cena would be in attendance, and following on from a report of who he’d be facing, it has now been revealed.

In the aftermath of him aiding John Cena retain his Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash 2025 against Randy Orton, and the post-show press conference in which Cena AA’d him through a table, it has now been revealed that R-Truth will go one-on-one with his ‘childhood hero’ at Saturday Night’s Main Event - with the title on the line. Recent pitches were also reportedly made for his title match at Money In The Bank too.

Additionally, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest will add the latest chapter to their series together, as a Steel Cage match was announced for Saturday Night’s Main Event, as the two rivals were unable to settle the score at both WrestleMania 41 and Backlash. Despite a scary bump at Backlash, Drew McIntyre is fit and healthy for SNME, not receiving any serious injuries. 

The updated match card for Saturday Night’s Main Event is as follows; 

• John Cena (c) vs. R-Truth - Undisputed WWE Championship
• Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul - World Heavyweight Championship
• CM Punk & Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker & Seth Rollins
• Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest - Steel Cage
