Randy Orton Advertised For August 2 WWE Raw

The Viper looks to be coming back soon

Randy Orton appears to be set to return to the ring on next week's edition of Monday Night Raw.

The Viper has been on the shelf since the June 21 episode of Raw when he was defeated by John Morrison. Orton was scheduled to compete in a Last Chance Triple Threat Match on the following episode, but he didn't appear on the show and hasn't been back on TV since.

It emerged last week that Orton has been absent from Raw because he has been on WWE's disabled/inactive list. Both the 13-time world champion and WWE were hoping he would be back for the August 2 Raw and it appears Orton will indeed be returning next week.

The venue for next week's show, Chicago's Allstate Arena, is currently advertising that Orton will be involved in a six-man tag team match alongside Riddle and Drew McIntyre against Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles and Omos. WWE's website also has Orton listed as one of the featured Superstars on the upcoming show.

This doesn't necessarily mean Orton will appear during the live broadcast of Raw, but he at least looks set to compete in a dark match following the episode.
