Real Reason Adam Copeland Vs. Christian Cage Wasn't Saved For AEW Worlds End

Adam Copeland on why he will face Christian Cage on AEW Dynamite instead of at Worlds End

All Elite Wrestling aren't waiting any longer to book Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage and the first singles match between the two real-life best friends in 13 years will take place on the December 6 edition of AEW Dynamite in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

A match between Christian and Copeland initially looked set to take place at Full Gear following the former Edge's AEW debut at WrestleDream but the two former tag team partners instead faced off in trios action as Copeland picked up the win over The Patriarchy alongside Sting and Darby Allin.

Many believed this meant Copeland vs. Christian was being saved for AEW Worlds End on December 30 but the match will take place tonight. Copeland revealed why that is the case to Sports Illustrated

"I've heard, 'Why isn't this at the pay-per-view?' To me, where is more important than when. We get to do it in Montreal. There's no other choice for us but to have it here. My family is coming for this one, cousins and relatives who've known Jay [Christian's real name] for years. There's something special about doing it in Canada. I am really, really amped up to do this one. I truly think there's not another story like ours, with this real story. Two friends from Orangeville, Ontario, who made it where we made it because of each other. I'm hoping this is a rabid crowd. This is what I dreamed of working that guy in Montreal for a championship," Copeland stated.

Christian Cage vs. Adam Copeland will be for the TNT Championship.
