Reason Behind Rusev's WWE Absence Reportedly Revealed

Where has the former United States Champion been recently?

Rusev has been making all kinds of headlines with his Twitter game over recent weeks.

Last night, The Bulgarian Brute responded to a fan asking if he was frustrated that Shane McMahon has been getting so much TV time recently by saying: "I’m not. It’s normal. He is the bosses son."

Fans may have been wondering where Rusev has been in recent weeks, as the former United States Champion hasn't been seen on WWE TV since the Super ShowDown 51-man (yes, there was 51 men in that match) BIGGEST BATTLE ROYAL EVER.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rusev recently requested time away from WWE for reasons that have not been revealed yet. For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what the latest WON says: "Rusev, who last performed on the Super Showdown event, hasn’t been around because he asked for time off. He’s expected back shortly..."

Before Super ShowDown, Rusev was last seen on WWE TV in a six-man tag on the April 16 episode of SmackDown Live.

Rusev's last televised singles match in WWE was all the way back on January 29.
