Reason Why Dio Maddin Was Removed From WWE Raw Commentary Revealed

Maddin recently returned to the WWE Performance Center.

Dio Maddin has not been on Monday Night Raw since suffering an F-5 through the announce table on November 4th. On Tuesday night Ryan Satin reported that he would not be returning to the commentary booth, as Maddin still holds aspirations to be a WWE Superstar. He is therefore returning to the WWE Performance Center to continue training.

However, Maddin's decision doesn't appear to be as clear cut as initial reports suggested. On Wrestling Observer Live Bryan Alvarez reported that the announcer was initially taken off TV because Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn did not like his commentary, and removed him so WWE could provide extra training. While being away from TV however, Maddin decided he wanted to return to in-ring action.

Alvarez said: "I don’t know if Dio Maddin himself is gonna get mad, but I’m sure we’ll hear that this is not accurate - but this is what happened. Vince and Kevin Dunn didn’t like Dio Maddin on commentary and they took him off commentary, and I think they were going to try to re-train him or whatever [...] but now I guess he’s decided he wants to be a wrestler again."
