Report: "A Lot Of Concern" Within WWE About Randy Orton's Back Injury

Randy Orton has been out of action since May

A worrying update on Randy Orton has emerged.

The 14-time world champion has been off WWE TV since the May 20 episode of Friday Night SmackDown when RK-Bro dropped the Raw Tag Team Titles to The Usos in a unification match. Orton was laid out by The Bloodline following the bout and he hasn't been seen since.

It later emerged that Orton was dealing with a serious back injury that would require surgery, putting him out of action for the remainder of 2022. There have been few updates about Orton since then but Dave Meltzer reported in today's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that "there is a lot of concern regarding Orton's back injury and its severity."

What this means for Orton's WWE future ultimately remains to be seen. The Viper has been a part of the company since 2001 and he has cemented himself as one of the top stars of the last 20 years, having had high-profile matches with the likes of Triple H, John Cena, and The Undertaker.
