Report: AEW Asked Bryan Danielson Not To Work Indie Wrestling Event

No indie show for The American Dragon

Since the promotion's formation, All Elite Wrestling talent have been free to take bookings on the independent wrestling scene and the likes of Joey Janela, Eddie Kingston, Lance Archer, Brian Cage and Jon Moxley have been active in various promotions.

One wrestler AEW have prevented from working on the independent wrestling scene, though, is Bryan Danielson.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Danielson is free to take indie bookings and there was a promotion The American Dragon was interested in working for. As All Elite Wrestling have yet to debut in that market, though, Tony Khan asked Danielson not to work in the area on an indie show until after AEW had run their first event there.

AEW made the request to Danielson because they wanted to be the first company to use him in the market since his WWE contract expired.

If Danielson will pop up in any other promotions outside of AEW remains to be seen but the former ROH World Champion has expressed an interest in working for New Japan Pro-Wrestling and wrestling in Mexico.
