Jim Ross: William Regal Is A Star That Never Got The Due He Deserved

Jim Ross has spoken of his admiration for William Regal and believes he has never been given the recognition he truly deserves in wrestling.
JR was WWE's Head Of Talent Relations when Regal was coming up through the company ranks in the early 2000s, with the Englishman going on to play a vital part for WWE in a backstage format, taking a leading role in the company's talent scouting and developmental systems.
AEW announcer Ross believes Regal would be a great asset for any wrestling company and believes he should have been given more recognition for his in-ring work too.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Grilling JR Podcast, he said: "There are very few guys in pro wrestling that I've met and developed relationships that I value more than William Regal, aka Darren Matthews. He is an invaluable asset to WWE and would be for any company he chose to hang his hat.
"He is such a good sport. His facial expressions were priceless. It shows you how much you can get over by learning the subtleties and perfecting the subtleties. Regal is a star that never got his due as much as I believe he deserves."
