Report: AEW Brings In Scotty 2 Hotty For Producer Tryout

Another former WWE star has been brought in by All Elite Wrestling.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite has reported that Scotty 2 Hotty (AKA Scott Garland) worked the AEW Dynamite taping on Wednesday, July 26 as a coach/producer. Hotty was brought in for a tryout and he is expected to be at TV tapings for at least the next several weeks.

Beyond his in-ring exploits, Garland had a five-year run in WWE as a coach at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. He was granted his release from the company in November 2021, noting to Cultaholic Wrestling shortly after that the mass releases in the company had started to take a toll on him.

Hotty returned to in-ring action following his WWE exit and he has been a fixture on the independent wrestling scene ever since, particularly in the United Kingdom where he has performed for the likes of Wrestle Carnival, TNT Extreme Wrestling, and NORTH Wrestling.

AEW have hired a number of new backstage personnel in recent months following the debut of Collision in June, bringing in the likes of Jimmy Jacobs and Will Washington.
