Report: AEW Dark Moving To TNT, As Second Show Ordered By Network

Cable schedule expanding...

It was reported earlier Wednesday that WarnerMedia had extended their deal with All Elite Wrestling to air Wednesday Night Dynamite through 2023. The report also indicated that TNT had ordered a second weekly AEW series to air on the network.

A tweet from Tony Maglio of The Wrap claims that YouTube series AEW Dark is making the move to TNT.

Says Maglio, "That second #AEW series will be #AEWDark, Turner President Kevin Reilly told me. It will be on TNT, it will be weekly but maybe not 52x/year. We do not yet have a weeknight for it, but obv. “Dark” is currently a Tuesday show on YouTube."

AEW Dark consists of matches taped the same night as Dynamite. Generally, the matches are midcard bouts that aren't critical to storylines, similar to other supplementary wrestling programs. Dark also includes interviews and other personality features.

In its current form, Tony Schiavone and Dasha Gonzalez serve as studio hosts for Dark, while Excalibur provides commentary for the matches with a guest announcer, sometimes one from outside the company.

Guest announcers have included Taz, Colt Cabana, Vickie Guerrero, and Memphis legend Dave Brown.
