Report: AEW Hires Former IMPACT Talent For Backstage Role

AEW brings in a former IMPACT talent

All Elite Wrestling have made another backstage hire.

PWInsider has reported that Kevin Matthews was backstage at the June 14 taping of AEW Dynamite in Washington, DC and he has been hired to work behind the scenes in the promotion. His exact role is currently unknown.

Matthews has worked on-screen for AEW in the past, having wrestled as an enhancement talent on tapings of Dark and Dark: Elevation between September 2021 and November 2022. He also served as a security guard during a contract signing between Wardlow and MJF for their match at Double or Nothing and he was previously booked as an extra for American Top Team when Wardlow defeated Scorpio Sky for the TNT Championship in July 2022.

Matthews will be known to most fans for his run in IMPACT Wrestling between 2017 and 2019, where he performed as KM. He is also the promoter of WrestlePro in New Jersey and Alaska.

AEW have been adding to their behind-the-scenes staff ahead of the premiere of Collision on Saturday, June 17. One new staff member is Jimmy Jacobs, who was backstage at Dynamite this week for the first time to work as a producer/coach.
