Report: Jimmy Jacobs Joins AEW Following IMPACT Wrestling Exit

Jimmy Jacobs is All Elite

All Elite Wrestling have added a new name to their creative team.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Jimmy Jacobs has departed IMPACT Wrestling and signed with AEW as a producer. Fightful Select had earlier reported that Jacobs was spotted backstage at tonight's AEW Dynamite taping in Washington DC.

Jimmy Jacobs has plenty of experience working in creative, having previously worked for WWE as a writer from March 2015 until October 2017. He was infamously fired for taking a photo with members of Bullet Club during the NJPW faction's "invasion" outside of a Monday Night Raw taping. Jacobs joined IMPACT Wrestling's creative team shortly after and he had been an integral part of the promotion's creative process.

Jacobs' signing with AEW comes at a time when AEW are expanding their creative team. Will Washington recently signed with the promotion as the Administration Coordinator, while Bryan Danielson has become more involved in creative and the American Dragon reportedly pushes Tony Khan to "think harder."

AEW are set to add another two hours of TV to their weekly programming this week with the debut of Collision on Saturday, June 17. AEW already airs Dynamite on Wednesday nights and Rampage on Friday nights.
