Report: AEW Holds Mandatory Meeting About Media Literacy & PR Ahead Of Double Or Nothing

Big PR meeting in AEW

All Elite Wrestling held a mandatory PR meeting for talent and staff on May 27, ahead of the promotion's Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, May 28, Fightful Select has reported.

Former WWE Vice President of Communications Adam Hopkins, who was hired by AEW earlier this year in a public relations role, led the meeting and stressed the importance of media literacy. Talent were told to ensure they establish they are speaking "off the record" in certain situations and to make sure whoever they are speaking to is aware of what the term means. The meeting wasn't done to criticise talent, but to simply inform them on how to better protect themselves and the company from misinformation. Hopkins also spoke on favoured terms and offered some of his experiences to those in attendance.

Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli spoke at the meeting too, with Castagnoli stressing that media interviews are a way for talent to promote themselves, their story, and current on-screen programmes.

The meeting was praised by those in attendance, with a top talent saying Hopkins was a game-changing hire for AEW when it comes to public relations.
