Report: AEW Moved Dynamite Match To Rampage

AEW shuffled around their plans

All Elite Wrestling shuffled around their plans for the special New Year's Smash edition of Rampage on December 30.

Will Washington of Fightful noted on the Grapsody podcast that Swerve Strickland was originally scheduled to take on Wheeler Yuta on Dynamite but AEW decided at the last minute to move the match to Rampage. Strickland ultimately won the match after 12 minutes.

With Yuta vs. Strickland off the table, AEW pivoted to having Swerve go one-on-one with longtime rival AR Fox on the January 4 edition of Dynamite. Fox and Strickland have clashed inside the squared circle since 2013 on the independents and they also had memorable matches in Lucha Underground, where Swerve performed as Killshot.

Killshot came out on top of their Hell of War Match and he and AR Fox would later win the Lucha Underground Trios Titles together with Willie Mack.

Strickland is currently receiving a push in AEW and he recently formed Mogul Affiliates with Parker Boudreaux and former minor league baseball player Granden Goetzman.
