Report: AEW Not In Talks With Tessa Blanchard

Conflicting reports emerge

Over the weekend, a report from SEScoops noted that All Elite Wrestling was in talks with Tessa Blanchard and her husband Daga. Both sides have reportedly been in negotiations for over a month and Blanchard and Daga joining AEW is considered "all but a formality."

AEW has even reportedly discussed tackling the allegations of racism and bullying against Blanchard head-on with a 'redemption storyline' on TV.

Blanchard may not be in talks with Tony Khan's promotion after all, though. Dave Meltzer addressed the talks on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted AEW is not in negotiations with the former IMPACT World Champion. The status of talks with Daga is unknown, but it was reported back in March that AEW was considering signing the former AAA Latin American Champion.

Meltzer said: "I do have to make mention before we go that AEW is not negotiating with Tessa Blanchard. I know people keep asking me about this and in fact, there's nothing to it. So that's the deal."

Blanchard has been a free agent since she was fired by IMPACT Wrestling in June 2020.
