Report: AEW Planning September Return To Arthur Ashe Stadium

A big Arthur Ashe Stadium show for AEW in 2022

While All Elite Wrestling have yet to make an official announcement, the promotion will return to New York City later this year for another show at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"Grand Slam, which he [Khan] has talked about, they're going to do it. He wants Grand Slam to be an annual tradition as the biggest TV of the year. He did not say this, but we in fact know, it will be mid-September on a Wednesday night in Arthur Ashe stadium, they've got it booked," Meltzer said.

AEW taped their Grand Slam events at Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 22, 2021, and the episodes of Dynamite and Rampage featured the likes of Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson, CM Punk vs. Powerhouse Hobbs, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston vs. Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer, and Sting and Darby Allin vs. FTR.

Arthur Ashe Stadium is traditionally a tennis venue and hosts the US Open. The stadium holds over 20,000 fans.
