Report: AEW Planning To Give Konosuke Takeshita A Major Push

A big push for Konosuke Takeshita is on the way in AEW

One of All Elite Wrestling's most popular talents is set to receive a major push.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW have significant plans for Konosuke Takeshita to be pushed as a top-tier star in the promotion. When that push will begin is unknown but Meltzer speculated that Don Callis scouting the 27-year-old will be the catalyst for that push.

Takeshita currently finds himself as a featured performer in AEW and his matches are often praised, although he seldom wins in the promotion, having suffered losses to the likes of Eddie Kingston, Hangman Page, and Claudio Castagnoli.

Since his return in November 2022, Takeshita has lost to Jon Moxley and he will go one-on-one with Bryan Danielson on the January 11 edition of Dynamite, a match Takeshita is expected to lose. He also teamed with Jun Akiyama to defeat Eddie Kingston and Ortiz on the November 18 episode of Rampage.

Alongside AEW, Takeshita continues to perform for DDT Pro-Wrestling, last competing for the promotion on January 5 when he went to a time-limit draw with Yuki Ueno.
