Report: AEW's Eddie Kingston Expected To Return Next Week

Will ‘The Mad King’ resume his feud with ‘Le Champion’?

Eddie Kingston has been out of action and off of AEW TV for several weeks rehabbing an orbital bone injury, but it seems his return could be just around the corner.

According to reports from Dave Meltzer in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kingston could be returning next week, possibly resuming his burgeoning feud with Chris Jericho:

“It appeared they were building toward Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston or some sort of a tag feud with those two as the focal points. Kingston hasn’t returned yet from a fractured orbital bone and they had several layers of stories to go when Kingston got hurt. Last we heard he was expecting to be back next week,” wrote Meltzer.

Kingston last wrestled on January 8, defeating Joey Janela on AEW: Dark, with his last televised match occurring on AEW: Rampage January 5, where Kingston and The Proud and Powerful defeated 2point0 and Daniel Garcia in a no DQ no holds barred six-man tag.

Since joining AEW in July 2020, Kingston has become one of the most over performers in the entire company.
