Report: AEW's Internal Investigation Looked Into More Than The All In Altercation Between CM Punk & Jack Perry

Further details on AEW's investigation into the altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry

CM Punk was fired by All Elite Wrestling on Saturday, September 2 following an internal investigation into his backstage altercation at All In with Jack Perry. Tony Khan ultimately fired Punk following advice from the AEW disciplinary committee and outside legal counsel.

The investigation began immediately following the incident and its scope extended beyond just the All In altercation, according to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer. It was reported the investigation involved speaking to all eyewitnesses of the All In skirmish and an outside investigation saw a lot of wrestlers interviewed over how things had changed/not changed over the past year.

More could still be revealed about why AEW decided to fire Punk, with Meltzer noting that Punk was fired over the All In altercation, but there is "so much more to it that hasn't come out", in regards to Punk's firing.

It is unknown who was on the disciplinary committee, nor who was interviewed by AEW as part of the investigation.

Jack Perry was suspended indefinitely by AEW following the altercation and he has not been at any AEW shows since All In.
