Report: AEW Sign Former IMPACT Star Brian Cage

The Machine vs. The Terminator to soon follow?

In recent years, Brian Cage has enjoyed somewhat of a career resurgence. He competed in main event matches in Lucha Underground against Prince Puma, Matanza Cueto and Texano. The Machine then signed with IMPACT Wrestling in 2018 and was presented as one of the promotion's top stars. He first captured the X-Division Championship from Matt Sydal at Slammiversary 2018 and then defeated Johnny IMPACT for the IMPACT World Championship in April 2019. Cage then held the title for 180 days before losing it to Sami Callihan.

Now, SoCal UNCENSORED have reported that Cage has signed a multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling. No start date has been set for the former IMPACT star but he is expected to appear on Dynamite soon.

The Swolverine's contract recently expired with IMPACT and he received offers to stay with the promotion and to move to Ring Of Honor. Ultimately he turned down more money from ROH to sign with AEW as he believes the young promotion can provide him with more exposure.

Cage does have a history with AEW as he almost appeared in the Casino Battle Royale at Double Or Nothing. However, he was stopped by IMPACT's Don Callis as he didn't want their World champion to lose on a pre-show battle royal.

The former Lucha Underground star also teased a match with AEW star Kenny Omega in December, to which Omega replied with a GIF from Terminator 2. Seemingly we can expect The Machine vs. The Terminator very soon.
