Report: AEW Star Taking Time Off With Injuries

Rey Fenix is "banged up" and will take some time off from AEW and ROH

A big name looks to be on the shelf for both AEW and ROH as one half of the current ROH World Tag Team Champions, Rey Fenix of the Lucha Bros, is reportedly set to be sidelined for a little while, and he is going to take some time off to tend to some injuries.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Fenix was “banged up” and “will be taking some time off to heal”.

Fenix hasn’t wrestled for a few weeks since a successful ROH World Tag Team Title defense against the duo of QT Marshall and Powerhouse Hobbs at AEW Battle Of The Belts VI on April 7, with him looking a little hurt coming out of that bout. Fenix recently missed a AAA show amidst these injury reports, though no timeframe has been given on a return, nor any details on the extent of his ailments. Fenix and his partner Penta El Zero Miedo won the ROH belts at the ROH Supercard of Honor PPV a month ago in a ladder match.
