Report: AEW Yet To Decide Who Should Win The Elite/Death Triangle Best Of Seven Series

The Elite vs. Death Triangle Match 7 is set for the January 11 AEW Dynamite

The Elite and Death Triangle’s best of seven series for the AEW Trios Titles is set to conclude on January 11, when match seven - a ladder match - will go down on AEW Dynamite.

Death triangle originally went 3-0 up before The Elite pulled the series back, seemingly setting up a Hollywood win for the team of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. However, according to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio the winner of the series has not been fully decided.

Meltzer hypothesised that The Elite should come out with the gold, suggesting that as the team are the bigger draw then they would be better placed the established the division:

"You really want really big stars to have those belts," Meltzer said. "A championship that's being established without really big stars, there's a million belts, it's gonna mean nothing, especially with the six-man which has been a struggle."

Meltzer continued, "It could go either way. I think Tony [Khan] wants The Young Bucks to win but I don't know that 100%."

The Elite were the inaugural holders of the titles having defeated Dark Order in a tournament final at All Out 2022, but were stripped of the belts due to suspension after their part in the post-show locker-room fight with CM Punk and Ace Steel.
