Report: AJ Styles Was Traded To WWE SmackDown After Clashing With Paul Heyman On Raw

The Phenomenal One was not happy on the red brand...

Back on the May 22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE confirmed AJ Styles had been traded to the blue brand for future considerations. This marked The Phenomenal One's return to the house that he built from 2016 to April 2019 and Styles picked up where he left off as he captured the Intercontinental Championship on June 12.

The two-time WWE Champion has previously said he needed a change after Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson were released on April 15 ,as being on Raw just reminded him that The Good Brothers weren't there anymore.

Dave Meltzer revealed on the F4W Online forums that Gallows' and Anderson's releases caused Styles to frequently clash with Paul Heyman. Meltzer noted AJ was "furious" with Heyman after his fellow OC members were released and blamed him for them being let go. Styles did understand that the final call was ultimately made by Vince McMahon, but he thought Brock Lesnar's advocate should have done more to stop the boss from releasing them.
