Kris Statlander Confirms She Tore Her ACL On Last Week's Episode Of AEW: Dynamite

Tough times for the AEW women's division...

On last week's episode of Dynamite, Kris Statlander teamed with Hikaru Shida against Nyla Rose and Penelope Ford. During the finish of the match, The Galaxy's Greatest Alien hit a Suicide Dive on Kip Sabian after he tried to interfere in the contest.

At the time, nothing suggested that Statlander had suffered an injury but PWInsider reported over the weekend that the AEW star had injured her knee. Statlander confirmed she suffered an injury on Twitter soon after as she explained she tore her ACL after connecting with the Tope Suicida and will require surgery.

The Galaxy's Greatest Alien tweeted: "Since the news is out. I told you I’d dive on Kip again and dammit I did. But in doing so, I ended up with a high grade tear in my ACL. Yes I need surgery. Yes I’ll be out of the ring for a while. I’ll do my best to still show up on your TVs as much as I can."

When Statlander will be back remains to be seen but she is expected to be out of action for at least eight months. The injury is also another blow to the AEW women's division which is currently without another top star in Britt Baker.
