Toni Storm's AEW In-Ring Return Not Imminent Despite WrestleDream Cassette Tapes

Despite the Toni Storm Tapes being released following the WrestleDream pay-per-view, the four-time AEW Women's World Champion won't be returning to the ring in All Elite Wrestling imminently.

Fightful Select has reported that, according to people they have spoken to in AEW, Storm's in-ring return is not imminent but other elements involving Storm could be added to AEW programming.

Toni Storm has been off AEW TV since March 2026 when she was laid out in an unseen backstage attack before the post-Revolution episode of Dynamite. It was reported soon after that Storm would not wrestle for the remainder of 2026 but her hiatus is not because of an injury.

Fightful noted there was a specific name in mind for who Storm's attacker would eventually be revealed as but the angle was left open in case those plans needed to be changed.

Buzz around Toni Storm's eventual return was fuelled at WrestleDream when five cassette tapes were planted for media members in attendance at the pay-per-view to find. The tapes were snapshots into "Timeless" Toni Storm's life, including her speaking to herself after waking up, speaking to her dog Chauncey, arguing with a movie producer, and advising young talents to make sure they acquire a cool hat.
