Andrade El Idolo rejected a pitch for his AEW onscreen return, according to a report by Fightful Select.
Andrade was apparently present at the Dynamite tapings on May 10, and was supposed to appear in a segment where he'd walk into Tony Khan's office. Miro and Thunder Rosa did partake in such segments on that episode, and the official launch of AEW Collision took place one week later on May 17.
However, Fightful Select reports that Andrade didn't want to do the segment - although the reason for this is currently unknown. He is still expected to be a part of the Collision brand.
Andrade's last bout came at All Out 2022 last September, where he was a participant in the Casino Ladder Match. He reportedly got into a backstage confrontation with Sammy Guevara in October, which Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio believed was a reflection of his apparent desire to leave the company. Since the incident, there has been speculation that it was a deliberate attempt by Andrade to get fired.
